The Grid. Not as cool as the one in Tron, but you get the idea. |
myself a marker of where to stop chiseling. I hollow out each individual grid, measuring as I go to make sure my cuts are not going at an angle. Every grid segment is 1/2 inch in depth. I've only got a palm chisel and an x-acto knife. This is going to take awhile. I won't say this boring work, because if it was I would not be doing it. It's just a little mind numbing. So I tend to let my mind kinda go and the stuff it brings back is , well...interesting. Stuff like why is cheesecake not called cheese pie? It's made in a pie pan, not a cake pan. Also, who decided to call them "goose bumps" ? Did they only have naked geese where this term was coined? What if they had noticed these bumps on a chicken first, or a duck. Would we be saying "It's so cold I got chicken bumps." or "That movie freaked me out, I had duck bumps the entire time." You get the idea. So on
the right you can see about how far I've gotten. It's been slow going, and it does leave my hands a little sore after a couple of hours. I do hope to have it completely hollowed out within the next week. So as not to bore you with forty pictures of me hollowing this thing out, I'll be posting some older work in between updates on this project. Please feel free to leave a comment and/or subscribe to keep up with my continued efforts.
